There are a total of eight states and kingdoms throughout the Levant, with each having a contribution to its history, both culturally and politically.
It is noticeable that the city of Jerusalem once belonged to the Kingdom of Judah; Jerusalem is now part of present-day Israel.
Over time, various factors have led to the development and later, downfall of the Levant’s kingdoms and states. At present, what was once the Levant is now comprised of Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, and other nearby areas.
